Thermal Trip Unit for MCB(DPN) Miniature Circuit Breaker (3052123)

When a short circuit occurs in the (MCB) circuit (such as the phase line and the phase line, or the phase line and the neutral line are directly connected), the (MCB) will instantly generate a short-circuit current far greater than the normal operating current (usually tens to hundreds of times the rated current). The core of the magnetic release is an electromagnet (composed of a coil and an iron core): When the (MCB) short-circuit current passes through the coil, it will generate a strong electromagnetic force, attracting the iron core to move, and then push the mechanical mechanism of the circuit breaker, so that the moving and static contacts are quickly separated, and the circuit is cut off in a very short time (usually milliseconds), avoiding the continuous action of the short-circuit current, which will cause the line to overheat, the equipment to burn, and even cause a fire.
Whenever continuous over current flows through MCB, the bimetallic strip is heated and deflects by bending. This deflection of bi-metallic strip releases a mechanical latch. As this mechanical latch is attached with the operating mechanism, it causes to open the miniature circuit breaker contacts, and the MCB turns off thereby stopping the current to flow in the circuit. To restart the flow of current the MCB must be manually turned ON. This mechanism protects from the faults arising due to over current or overload and short circuit.

Thermal Trip Unit

Thermal Trip Unit Manufacturer | HAIPART

In the confined space of sealed electrical control cabinets, HAIPART's miniature thermal trip units are redefining the power density of protective devices. Through a fin structure optimized by a simulated fluid heat dissipation model, they achieve a 40% increase in heat dissipation efficiency per unit volume. While competitors still compromise on size, our EN60947-4 certified products have already provided the final thermal barrier for 500,000 inverters worldwide.

Why choose the HAIPART Thermal Trip Unit?

✅A composite metal layer bonded by vacuum diffusion welding improves thermal response speed by 40%, maintaining ±5% operating consistency in ambient temperatures from -25°C to 60°C.

✅A Swiss CNC-machined V-groove latch mechanism controls the tripping force to 0.49N ± 0.03N, preventing false tripping.

✅Exclusive rapid cooling reset technology allows the metal plate to return to its original shape within 90 seconds after power failure, far exceeding the industry average of 300 seconds.

Applications:

Suitable for home power, industrial production lines, and new energy photovoltaic applications.

FAQ

Q1:What is the core function of the thermal trip unit?

A1:It provides overload protection by using the principle of bimetallic strip bending under heat to delay and cut off the circuit when the current continuously exceeds the rated value, preventing the equipment from being damaged by long-term overload.

Q2:What are the differences between a thermal trip unit and a magnetic trip unit?

A2:Thermal trip: Only responds to overload current (delayed action), no short-circuit protection.

Magnetic trip: Only responds to short-circuit current (instantaneous action), no overload protection.

Q3:What are the requirements for the installation location of the thermal trip unit?

A3:By placing it close to the load side, the impact of line impedance on protection sensitivity is reduced.

Q4:How to verify the reliability of the thermal trip unit's operation?

A4:The short-circuit test simulates fault current to verify that the trip unit operates within 5ms, while the overload test continuously operates at 1.2 times the rated current to ensure that the thermal trip does not malfunction.

Q5:What are the common causes of malfunctions in magnetic trip units?

A5:Electrical interference and mechanical jamming.

Q6:What are the safety standards for magnetic trip units?

A6:Electrical safety must pass the IEC 60947-2 short-circuit withstand test (e.g., 50kA/1s), and outdoor applications must meet the IP54 protection rating (dustproof and waterproof).

Q7:Special design of magnetic trip unit in low-voltage power distribution?

A7:Selective protection and shunt trip extension.

Q8:What are the prices of your products?

A8:Product prices vary depending on the model, specifications, and quantity. Please consult the sales team or check the official website for details.

Q9:What after-sales services do you provide?

A9:We provide comprehensive after-sales services, including product consultation, technical guidance, installation and commissioning, repair and replacement, and warranty.

Q10:How can I contact your technical support?

A10:Technical support can be contacted through the official website, customer service hotline, or email.
